Philadelphia erupted in celebration after the Eagles’ commanding 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans on Sunday. However, the post-game revelry quickly escalated, leading to nearly 50 arrests, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Chaotic Night of Arrests and Vandalism
Among the arrests:
- Five individuals were charged with assaulting police officers.
- Two arrests were made for aggravated assault.
- One person was charged with recklessly endangering another individual.
- One arrest was made for third-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
- Twenty-nine people were arrested for disorderly conduct and issued code violation notices.

Parade to Continue Super Bowl Festivities
Despite Sunday night’s unrest, the citywide celebrations are far from over. The official Super Bowl victory parade is set for Friday, where thousands of Eagles fans are expected to flood the streets once again.

History Repeats: Similar Chaos After NFC Championship Win
This isn’t the first time Eagles fans have caused mayhem following a major win. On January 26, after the Eagles secured the NFC championship, similar disorder broke out:
- 31 people were cited for disorderly conduct or failure to disperse.
- Two shootings, a stabbing, and a car crash that injured multiple pedestrians were reported as “significant incidents” by police.
- Tragically, an 18-year-old Temple University student died after falling from a light pole while celebrating the win.
As Philadelphia prepares for Friday’s parade, authorities are bracing for another potential wave of rowdy celebrations, hoping to keep the city’s passionate fanbase from crossing the line into dangerous and destructive behavior once again.
