NORTH BEND, Ore. — A small corporate plane carrying five people skidded off a runway at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport early Monday and plunged into Coos Bay, according to local officials.
The incident occurred just before 6:15 a.m. when the aircraft failed to remain on the runway during landing, the airport confirmed in a social media statement.
All Aboard Survive the Crash
The pilot and four passengers were rescued from the water and immediately taken to a local hospital. According to the airport’s latest update:
- Two individuals were released the same day.
- One person was admitted for further care.
- Another was undergoing evaluation.
- The fifth passenger was transferred to a different medical facility for additional treatment.
All five were listed in stable condition.

The aircraft involved was a 2019 Honda HA-420, commonly known as the HondaJet. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) authorized its removal from the bay after the crash.
The jet had departed from St. George, Utah, en route to North Bend, as reported.
