New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is back in the hospital less than two weeks after being released for treatment related to a gunshot wound sustained in Midtown Manhattan. The Kris Boyd hospitalization update was shared directly by the player on Instagram, where he told supporters he’s dealing with “health issues.”
Boyd, 29, apologized for his silence and thanked fans for their prayers, noting he had to return for further treatment. No additional medical details have been disclosed.
Shooting Details and Initial Treatment
The incident occurred at around 2 a.m. on Nov. 16 outside the Sei Less restaurant on West 38th Street, according to the NYPD. Boyd was shot in the abdomen and taken to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors treated a bullet lodged in his lung.
Police sources told media the shooting may have stemmed from a verbal exchange between Boyd’s group—including two other Jets players—and another group “chirping” about clothing.

On Nov. 19, Boyd posted that he had begun breathing on his own, sharing a photo and thanking supporters. His recent return to the hospital raises concerns about ongoing complications, though the nature of the current health issue remains unclear.
