The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing, lottery officials said.
It is the second time this year the prize has reached the billion-dollar mark and ranks as the seventh-largest jackpot in Powerball history, according to the game’s organizers. The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday.
Winning numbers and prize options
The numbers drawn on Wednesday were 10, 16, 29, 33, and 69, with a red Powerball of 22. No ticket matched that full combination, allowing the top prize to roll over once again.
The current jackpot carries an estimated cash value of $461.3 million. As usual, jackpot winners can choose between receiving the advertised amount in annual payments over time — worth an estimated $1 billion — or taking a one-time lump sum payment of $461.3 million before taxes.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play.

Recent wins and record-setting jackpots
The Powerball jackpot was last hit on Sept. 6, when two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize. Since then, there have been 40 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, fueling the latest surge.
The largest Powerball jackpot on record remains the $2.04 billion prize won on Nov. 7, 2022. That drawing set a U.S. lottery record and underscored how quickly jackpots can grow when multiple drawings pass without a top-prize winner.
Long odds, big dreams
According to Powerball, the odds of hitting the jackpot — by matching all five white balls plus the red Powerball — are 1 in 292.2 million.
Despite those long odds, big rollover jackpots typically drive waves of ticket sales as players across the country buy in for a chance at a life-changing payout. With Saturday’s drawing now offering a headline-grabbing $1 billion top prize, lottery officials are expecting strong demand.
