Actor Alec Baldwin has reassured fans that he’s “fine” after a car accident in East Hampton on Monday morning. Local authorities confirmed Baldwin’s SUV sustained front-end damage after colliding with a tree, but noted that he was not injured.
According to police, the incident occurred when Baldwin swerved to avoid another vehicle. The East Hampton Fire Department also responded to the scene to assess damage and ensure there were no hazards.

Shortly after the crash, Baldwin addressed the situation directly in a short Instagram video, saying he wanted to “clear up all the inquiries.”
“I was in a car accident this morning. I’m fine,” Baldwin said. “A garbage truck the size of a whale cut me off. To avoid hitting him, I hit a big, fat tree — and crushed my wife’s car.”
Baldwin added that his brother Stephen Baldwin had been visiting for the weekend and that they’d attended the Buffalo Film Festival together.
