Authorities continue to investigate a Boston home invasion in which two suspects allegedly disguised themselves as city workers to gain access to an elderly man’s Dorchester apartment. The incident occurred Monday afternoon, and police have since released surveillance images of the assailants.
According to the Boston Police Department (BPD), the two men forced their way into the victim’s home under false pretenses and attempted to restrain him while brandishing a firearm.
Elderly Victim Assaulted and Injured
Police reported that one suspect wore a neon yellow construction jacket and a white hard hat to appear as a city worker. After gaining entry, the suspects:
- Tried to tie the man’s ankles with a plastic bag
- Attempted to place duct tape over his mouth
- Pointed a black firearm at the victim’s head during a struggle
- Threw a fan at the victim before fleeing the scene
The victim sustained bruises on his hands, wrists, and face, along with cuts to his ear. He declined EMS treatment and sought medical care on his own.
Surveillance Footage and Suspect Description
Security camera footage shows the suspects entering the building at 4:24 p.m. and fleeing six minutes later through a rear staircase. Both were wearing black masks, and one wore a red knit Red Sox hat.

Police Appeal for Information
The BPD is urging anyone with details on the Boston home invasion to call detectives at 1-800-494-TIPS. Anonymous tips are welcomed, and authorities emphasized the importance of public assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
