A baby is expected to make a full recovery after being rescued from beneath an overturned vehicle following a crash in Fort Worth, Texas, police confirmed Friday. The Fort Worth baby rescue unfolded on a busy highway Thursday morning after reports indicated that both a child and mother had been ejected from the car.
Body camera footage released by the Fort Worth Police Department captured the dramatic moment when officers and good Samaritans rushed to lift the vehicle. In the footage, a distraught woman can be heard crying out for her baby as officers arrive on the scene.
Bodycam Footage Captures Heroic Moment
In the video, one officer runs toward the overturned car, urgently calling for help from nearby drivers. “Under here, we need to move the car,” the officer says, believing the baby to be pinned beneath the wreckage.
Working together, the officer and several motorists managed to raise the vehicle just enough for him to pull the infant out by the leg. The baby appeared unresponsive at first, prompting officers to check for a pulse and begin resuscitation efforts.
Within moments, the baby began breathing again and started to cry — a sign of life that brought relief to everyone at the scene.

Both Mother and Child Expected to Recover
According to Fort Worth police, both the mother and baby were taken to a local hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.
“Although this video may be extremely difficult to watch, it is an important example of the kinds of situations that our police officers may come across while performing their duties,” the department said in a public statement.
Police Chief Eddie Garcia described the child as a “little angel” and praised the officers’ quick thinking and bravery. The department also expressed gratitude to the citizens who stopped to help lift the vehicle during the Fort Worth baby rescue.
A Reminder of Everyday Heroism
The Fort Worth baby rescue highlights the courage and coordination often required in life-or-death moments on the road. For officers and bystanders alike, their actions turned what could have been a tragedy into a story of survival and teamwork.
