A 47-year-old man was fatally injured when a snowplow struck him at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, local officials said.
The collision was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot just south of Terminal 2, according to Jeff Lea, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates the airport.
The lot is used by LSG Sky Chefs, the in-flight catering services company. Officials said the man’s name was not immediately released.
Lea said the Minnesota State Patrol is assisting airport authorities with the investigation into the incident.

Snow, flight delays, and an emergency in Minneapolis
At the time of the crash, light snow was falling, and temperatures were in the upper 20s. The winter weather contributed to more than 200 flight delays out of Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport on Tuesday.
The following day, the city of Minneapolis declared a snow emergency starting at 9 p.m., temporarily banning parking on certain streets so plows can clear snow.
“These rules help plows in clearing the streets so emergency vehicles and other traffic can get around,” city officials said in announcing the emergency.
