A New York man has been arrested in connection with the March homicide of a Massachusetts resident found shot to death in Palmyra, Maine, according to Maine State Police.
Authorities say Kareem Quattlebaum, 38, was taken into custody in the Bronx on Wednesday by the FBI New York Office. He is accused of the killing of Jaquan Humphries, 28, of Mattapan, Massachusetts.
Quattlebaum was transported to the New York Police Department’s Central Booking and is being held at Rikers Island pending an extradition hearing, police said.
Details of the March Killing
Humphries was shot and killed on March 12 at a residence in Palmyra, Maine, where he had been living, authorities said. Officers responded after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting at the home and found Humphries deceased at the scene.
An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Humphries died from a gunshot wound. His death was officially ruled a homicide, Maine State Police confirmed.

Investigation Ongoing
The investigation into the Palmyra, Maine, homicide remains ongoing, according to authorities. Police have not released additional details regarding a possible motive or how Quattlebaum and Humphries may have known each other.
