Actor Reflects on the Physical Toll of Superhero Stunt Work
Hollywood star Robert Pattinson opened up about the grueling physical demands of reprising his role as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel, The Batman Part II. In a candid interview, the 40-year-old actor admitted that executing heavy tactical combat choreography and acrobatic wirework is ‘significantly harder’ now than during the production of the 2022 original film.
“I’m definitely feeling my age this time around,” Pattinson joked. “Every bruise takes twice as long to heal, and the stunt suit feels about twenty pounds heavier.”
Rigorous Physical Conditioning and Tactical Training
To prepare for the sequel’s grounded, visceral combat style, Pattinson underwent months of intensive tactical martial arts conditioning, focusing on Indonesian Silat and Jiu-Jitsu. Stunt coordinators praised the actor’s dedication to performing as many of his own fight scenes as safely possible, despite the physical strain involved in extended night shoots in heavy armor.
Production team members noted that the suit design was modified to improve joint flexibility, easing some of the physical burden on the lead actor during high-impact sequences.
