YORBA LINDA, Calif. — A shooting at Featherly Regional Park on Sunday afternoon has left three people hospitalized, according to a post from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on X (formerly Twitter).

Altercation Escalates Into Violence

Authorities say the incident stemmed from an earlier altercation in the day. According to a police information officer (PIO) in a video statement posted Sunday evening, a man involved in the dispute returned to the park and attempted to run over another man with his car.

After the failed vehicular assault, the driver exited his vehicle and opened fire, shooting two people before turning the gun on himself, the PIO reported.

Emergency Response and Victim Conditions

All three gunshot victims were transported to a local hospital. Their current conditions remain unknown as of Sunday night.

A fourth person, who was nearly run over, suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized after being evaluated by firefighter paramedics on the scene.
