A woman from Texas has been arrested after customers at two Walmart stores in Biloxi, Mississippi, reported finding razor blades shoved into loaves of bread, according to local authorities.
Biloxi police said the suspect, 33-year-old Camille Benson, has been charged with attempted mayhem. Her bond was set at $100,000, and she was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation began after customers at a Walmart Supercenter and a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Biloxi reported the disturbing discoveries. Lt. Candace Young, a public information officer for the Biloxi Police Department, said shoppers contacted store employees after spotting blades embedded in bread they had purchased.

Timeline of complaints and product sweep
According to Walmart staff and police, the first known incident happened on Dec. 5, when a customer who had bought a loaf of bread from the Walmart Supercenter reported finding a razor blade inside. On Dec. 8, another shopper who had purchased bread at the Walmart Neighborhood Market also found a blade.
The situation escalated after a third complaint reached the Supercenter on Sunday. Employees then began a broader inspection of the bread aisle and discovered several more loaves that appeared to have been tampered with, law enforcement officials said.
The Biloxi Police Department was formally notified on Monday. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and, by Tuesday, identified Benson as a person of interest before taking her into custody.
In a press release, police urged anyone who bought bread from the two Biloxi Walmart locations in recent days to carefully inspect their loaves and contact authorities if they find anything suspicious. At this stage, officers say they do not believe any other stores have been targeted.

Walmart pulls and inspects products, urges refunds
In a statement, Walmart said it had moved quickly to remove potentially affected items and check shelves for additional tampering.
“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” the company said. “We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”
The retailer advised customers that if they purchase a product and discover it has been tampered with, they should immediately discard it and visit their local Walmart for a full refund.
Authorities have not reported any injuries so far, but they stressed that product tampering carries serious risks and urged shoppers to stay alert.
Ongoing investigation into motive and scope
Investigators have not publicly discussed a possible motive and are still working to determine how many loaves may have been affected and over what period of time.
Police say the blades appeared to have been inserted through the plastic packaging of the bread while the products were on store shelves, rather than at a warehouse or during shipping.
As the case moves forward, Benson faces an attempted mayhem charge — a serious felony that can carry substantial prison time in Mississippi if prosecutors secure a conviction.
For now, Biloxi police and Walmart officials are asking shoppers who recently purchased bread at the two Biloxi locations to err on the side of caution: check the loaves, throw out anything suspicious, and report any findings as the Biloxi Walmart razor blades probe continues.
