Shakira Hospitalized: International superstar Shakira revealed that she was hospitalized over the weekend due to an abdominal issue, forcing her to cancel her scheduled concert in Peru.
Emergency Room Visit & Concert Cancellation
In a Sunday social media post, the Grammy-winning artist shared the unexpected news with her fans:
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” Shakira wrote on Instagram.
She went on to explain that her doctors advised her she was not well enough to perform, resulting in the cancellation of her Lima, Peru concert scheduled for Sunday evening.
“I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”
Hopeful for a Quick Recovery
Despite the setback, Shakira remained optimistic, expressing hope that she would be released and well enough to perform soon.
Later on Sunday, she took to social media again to thank her fans for their support:
“Thank you for all your loving messages. You give me so much strength!! I love you with all my heart.”
She also confirmed that her team and concert promoters were working on rescheduling the Lima show.
