A massive section of a decommissioned Boeing 747, once a party hotspot at the 2017 Burning Man Festival, is getting a fresh start near the Las Vegas Strip.
From Black Rock Desert to AREA15
On Wednesday, the cockpit and fuselage of the jumbo jet were transported from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to AREA15, an immersive entertainment district known for its interactive art experiences, including Meow Wolf.
The jet, which was gutted after its Burning Man days in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, will be repurposed as an event and nightlife venue, bringing a unique party experience to Las Vegas.

A New Home for Immersive Art and Entertainment
“We just really want to celebrate the arts community and find immersive and experiential ways (to enjoy art),” said Pearl Verzosa, AREA15’s marketing director. “We are open for everybody. We want families, friends, partners just to have a really good time here. And I think that the airplane will be one of those really special places.”
With its new location and purpose, the former festival attraction will continue its legacy as a space for creativity, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences.
