Shooting at Norfolk State University Leaves Two Injured

NORFOLK, VA — At least two individuals were injured in a shooting that occurred late Saturday night on the Norfolk State University (NSU) campus, according to law enforcement officials.


Incident Details

The Norfolk Police Department confirmed the shooting took place in the 2200 block of Presidential Parkway around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police received a call reporting the incident and promptly responded to the scene.


Injuries and Campus Lockdown

Two male victims were transported to a local hospital, authorities said. One of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, while the condition of the second individual has not been publicly disclosed.

Early Sunday morning, the NSU campus was placed on lockdown as police and campus security continued to investigate the scene.


Location and Response

The shooting is believed to have taken place in the Greek Row section of the campus, according to Stan Donaldson, a university spokesperson. Both campus police and city police responded to the call and secured the area.
